Big Sur Wedding | Elopement Video

By now we know 2020 is the year of surprises. And when your wedding plans need to change out of nowhere, eloping really is the way to go! Bahar and David made the most out of a not so ideal situation. They decided they would still get married, and that they would have a big party later, whenever that would be possible. They chose one of the most iconic places in Califonia to do so: Big Sur! But why have a Big Sur wedding?
#1 Iconic Views
It’s no wonder Big Sur is a must-do while traveling through California, this place is incredibly unique for its views. Driving through Highway-1 will seriously make you feel like you’re in a movie scene!
The mix in between ocean views, beaches, mountains, and cliffs is just out of this world, and it makes it for the perfect elopement location!
#2 Plenty of Spots
Yes, Big Sur is touristy, and it can definitely get crowded, especially in the summer. BUT, because it’s such a huge place that you’ll always be able to find a little quiet corner for your ceremony!
We started Bahar & David’s wedding day at Ventana Big Sur, where they got ready and did their first look. Then we headed to Garrapata State Park for their ceremony and Garrapata Beach for their first dance and champagne celebration! It was absolutely beautiful and intimate!
#3 Beautiful no Matter what
The weather in Big Sur changes constantly. You could have sun and clear skies in the morning, and then heavy fog throughout the afternoon! But it really doesn’t matter, because even with all the fog, Big Sur is absolutely beautiful! So you know you’ll always have the beautiful views you hoped for on your wedding day.
At the end of the day, David said one thing that stuck with me. We were talking about how the weather in Big Sur is crazy, one day is beautiful and sunny, and the next day is foggy all day, and how foggy it was for their wedding day. David, with a huge smile, said “this is perfect though. If there’s one thing we learned this year, is that your day is what you make out of it”. He’s 100% right.
