Glacier Point Wedding Photos
Yosemite National Park is one of the most epic Parks in the USA, it’s a fact. There’s a reason why this place is a famous location for weddings and engagement photos. But within the Park, there are SO MANY beautiful spots to choose from, that it gets hard to pick one! So here are a few reasons why you might want to consider having a Glacier Point Wedding:
#1 No Hiking Required
I know. With views like these, you would think you need to hike for 2 days to get to the top of this mountain but nope. You just need to drive up the Glacier Point Road, park your car, and take a walk and boom! There’s the view! Amazing, right? So if hiking doesn’t appeal to you, but you still want some fresh mountain air and epic views, this might be the perfect place for your wedding!
If you’re having a couple of guests with you, that’s something to consider as well. Not all your guests might want to go on a hike in their nice clothes, so Glacier Point is often chosen for a ceremony spot. #2 It’s Always Cooler Up There
If you live in the Central Valley as we do, you know what I’m talking about. This wedding session for example, when Aaron looked at the temperatures for the day, he told his wife Taline “babe, your make is going to melt!”. It was 107 in Fresno that day. But as we drive up to Yosemite, and then even higher to Glacier Point, the temperature kept dropping. In the middle of the summer, it was 71 degrees at Glacier Point!
#3 The View
The most obvious reason, I know. But it couldn’t get left out! Glacier Point’s view is out of this world! You get to see Half Dome, Nevada, Vernal, and Yosemite Falls all right there, in front of you! This was Taline and Aaron’s first time in Glacier Point and they could not believe what was in front of their eyes!
This session was very special to us. This year, Taline & Aaron chose us to “re-do” some of their wedding photos and we felt so honored. Unfortunately, their session was scheduled for March, exactly 3 days after the Governor of California issued the shelter in place order, so we had to reschedule it. We were supposed to go to a hike not too far from where we live, but we decided that, whenever we were able to shoot, we were going to make this session epic and go to Yosemite!
These two beautiful people have amazing energy – and they have 5 kids by the way – and we had such a great time hanging out with them! Sometimes I can’t believe how many amazing people we get to meet, and how we get to be a little part of their story.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
I’m sure you’ve heard that Glacier Point Road was going to be closed for all of next year. Well, NOT ANYMORE! Yosemite had to postpone the construction so that means that we WILL be able to go to Glacier Point AND Taft Point in 2021! WOOOOOO! Can you tell we’re excited?!
Honestly, there is no place like Taft Point. It doesn’t get old, and we can’t wait for the next couples we get to take there next year!
