This Mammoth Lakes wedding was one for the books. 95% of the time, we’re the ones guiding our couples through hikes in the dark, but this time, we fully trusted Ryley & Will with taking us to their secret ceremony spot!
For those who don’t know, Mammoth Lakes is this beautiful area in the Eastern Sierras surrounded by so many alpine lakes. There’s an infinite amount of hikes to do, lakes to jump in, and just so much beauty. The town of Mammoth Lakes is also incredibly cute.
Will grew up going to Mammoth Lakes quite often. His grandpa has a beautiful cabin there. When he and Ryley started dating, he took her as much as he could. This place became special to both of them and they had no doubt that they were going to have a Mammoth Lakes wedding.
A year prior to their wedding date, they went on a search for the perfect ceremony spot. Once they reached out to us their plan was layed out, and they asked us if we were up for the adventure – our answer was obviously yes! We started to hike at 5 AM on the dot, with headlamps on our heads and a ton of equipment on our backs, and we were so excited to finally see their secret ceremony spot. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint!
We spent the morning with them and their friends, then we hiked down and everyone had a couple of hours to nap and recharge. At the end of the evening, we met with them at sunset and shot their reception at the Double Eagle Resort Restaurant, in June Lake.
It was an exhausting and AMAZING day. Hiking uphill (literally, all uphill) in the dark is always worth it!
