I’m SO excited to share this Yosemite National Park Elopement with you! We had a BLAST spending all day with Madison & Steve, from sunrise to sunset.

So when these two landed in California, they had NO idea if they would be able to have the wedding pictures they were dreaming of. And neither did we. Yosemite had to close 2 weeks before their elopement due to extremely bad air quality, and there was no prediction of when it would open again. After a series of fortunate events and a LOT of positive thinking, the Park opened. Just 2 days before their elopement day. We were all SO happy, and we were especially excited because this would be their first time in Yosemite EVER.
Madison & Steve booked us for a sunrise + sunset elopement. It was just the two of them plus Steve’s brother and sister-in-law, who had just moved to California and also had never been to Yosemite before! We were SUPER excited to spend the day with them and show them some of our favorite spots in the Park.
Like I mentioned on our ELOPEMENT TIPS Blog Post, rushing your elopement day is one of the biggest mistakes couples make. If a traditional wedding lasts, on average, from 8-10 hours, why does your elopement have to be shorter? It doesn’t. Eloping isn’t about running away in secret to a courthouse anymore. Eloping is about creating amazing experiences that are valuable to you as a couple. And to Madison & Steve, all they wanted to do was spend their wedding day outdoors, from sunrise to sunset.
They were both stoked that their wedding day was also their first time at Yosemite! We got to watch the sunrise over the Valley, and take them to some of our favorite spots! Since Yosemite had just reopened 2 days before their elopement day, the Park was EMPTY, and it was awesome.
The day ended at Glacier Point and Taft Point, where they had their first dance and had a champagne cheer to celebrate! Because of the altitude, it really wasn’t so much of a champagne pop, the cork kinda just fell out when Madison touched the top lol. It made for some of the funniest pictures of the day! Check it out!
PS. always remember to keep an eye on the cork, and pick it up after (:
